Following their cryptocurrency miner protection integration, Opera announced the launch of a new mobile browser for Android with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet back in early July.
Due to the extremely positive feedback received from users who have been test-driving the mobile app, Opera has revealed today that they will also be adding mobile crypto wallet support to their popular desktop computer browser.
Charles Hamel, Product Lead of Opera Crypto commented:
“By adding a crypto wallet directly into the browser, we removed the need for complex extensions or separate apps. Opening up the PC browser to crypto marks Opera’s second step towards making cryptocurrencies and Web 3.0 mainstream.”
Users of the mobile wallet are already able to interact with dApps on the ethereum network and no longer have to use a separate browser extension to transfer or receive cryptocurrency.
Additionally, users of the desktop browser will be able to sign transactions with their fingerprints on their phone rather than having to use long passphrases, as the phones secure lock system will be used to store the user’s private keys.
“Some users prefer to perform crypto payments or interact with dApps on their desktop. They can now do so in a simple way by using the same wallet they have on their mobile phone,” added Hamel.
Opera has remained at the forefront of innovation and are playing a clear role in the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies by making their software easy and convenient to use for everyone.
The integrated PC-mobile crypto wallet solution will be added to the Opera mobile and PC browsers soon. If you wish to be a private beta-tester, you can sign up by clicking here.
