After four long years, Bitcoin finally has some crypto company in Google’s embedded currency converter.
Now, when you search for a simple currency conversion, you can also use the names, or symbols, for Bitcoin Cash, Etherum, and Litecoin.
If you aren’t familiar with how the tool works, open a Google search window and type in your choice of:
- LTC to USD (or) Litecoin to USD
- BCH to USD (or) Bitcoin Cash to USD
- ETH to USD (or) Ethereum to USD
Then, as with the example above, you’ll see a simple currency converter with a market price for the token in question.
While it’s not entirely clear which exchange or market maker the quotes are coming from, or how much “secret sauce” Google has applied, the results are close enough to the popular exchanges to give you a good idea of where things stand.
Google has been making a lot of moves in the cryptocurrency circles of late, including a recent agreement is Digital Asset to host an open-source development environment for blockchain in the Google Cloud.
All of these announcements come as Google wraps up its cloud conference, Google Next in San Francisco.
