You may remember Boerse Stuttgart, Germany’s 2nd largest stock exchange, from their recent announcement of a crypto trading app called BISON.

Today they’ve upped the ante substantially, with the announcement of three new digital asset offerings that will eventually provide a custody service “along the entire value chain.”

The new crypto offerings, which will follow the BISON launch in the fall, include a platform for ICOs, a trading venue, and crypto custody, all under one roof.

Per their release, Boerse Stuttgart Group has “extensive know-how” that uniquely positions them to understand the technologies, regulations, and trading models that will allow them to offer the broad cryptocurrency solutions.

CEO Alexander Höptner had this to say about his company’s credentials as they pursue this digitization strategy as an established player in the German trading market…

“Investors and market participants know that Boerse Stuttgart Group stands for quality, transparency, and reliability. As a Germany-based provider, we want to transpose this standard into the digital world. We will help to promote acceptance of digital assets.”

Here’s a summary of the three-pronged approach to primary and secondary markets that Boerse Stuttgart is planning after BISON goes live:

1. ICO Platform

You can’t really have tokens without an ICO, so for starters, Boerse Stuttgart Group is planning to offer a platform for issuing digital currency tokens for corporate interests and those involved in rights management.

All of this will come with a focus on standardization and transparency.

2. Trading Venue

Boerse Stuttgart Group is also creating a regulated, multilateral cryptocurrencies trading venue concurrent with the ICO platform.

Again, here’s CEO Alexander Höptner:

“At the trading venue tokens issued via our ICO platform can be traded on the secondary market. This is an important success factor for ICOs. At the same time, we are responding to demand from both retail and institutional investors for a regulated and reliable environment for trading with cryptocurrencies. In designing the strategic projects we closely cooperate with all competent boards and committees, and especially with the supervisory authorities.”

The trading platform will also support Bitcoin and Ethereum.

3. Custody Service

Rounding out the new crypto offerings promised by Boerse Stuttgart Group is a solution for safe custody which will certainly be of interest to institutional investors.

It’s hard to say what this will be exactly, but here’s the word-salad from the release…

The services will include differentiated safety concepts for digital assets and will already be available for the start of BISON. Later on it will be possible to use the custody service along the entire value chain.

Overall, it seems like a fairly bullish announcement from Boerse Stuttgart.
