Bittrex is expanding into Malta and will launch a new crypto exchange there on October 1st.

At a presentation during the Dunamu Developer Conference on Jeju Island, Bittrex CEO Bill Shihara confirmed rumors:

“We are now planning to launch Bittrex Malta. This will allow us to list tokens a lot faster.”

Thanks to looser regulations, the coin listing process is expected to be significantly faster and easier in Malta, the EU’s smallest state.

In addition to the global expansion news, Shihara said Bittrex will not be launching any tether competitors but plans to list many new tokens in the coming months.

Shihara expressed concerns about recent scams, but noted how strong the growth will continue to be in the blockchain space.
